Vankedisi or Angora?

by Robyn
(Fethiye Turkey)

I was recently contacted by a Turkish gentleman who was looking for a home for an all-white odd-eyed cat that he thought was a Vankedisi.

I have kept Vans for years (over 10) but am used to the UK white and auburn version rather than the all white Vankedisi (same cat but with spotting gene masked).

She was ravenously hungry and I am sheltering/fostering her at the moment and it depends how well she gets on with my other cats as to whether I will keep her or try to find her a permanent home.

I can't tell whether she is a Van or an Angora and wondered if anyone could tell me how to differentiate between a Van and an Angora which are similar but different breeds.

Here are some photos of her.
