No, cats can come to harm and they can harm local wildlife

Man has done a lot of damage to the ecosystem and that includes introducing domesticated animals like cats and dogs that will attack local wildlife. Even well fed cats can attack local birds and small small mammals. I remember my childhood cat leaving us "gifts."

As for the cats themselves, depending on your location they can get hit by cars, abused by not so nice people and even get attacked by predators bigger then them. They have been domesticated for thousands of years and no longer belong in the wild.

Live and let die?

IT may be a statement of reality... but life goes on, you can do nothing to change that. Let nature be and get a grip.

This smacks of revisionist thinking, cats and dogs have been domesticated by man for thousands of years, your regret will not change that. Go vegan, but you still eat the plants that have worked hard to grow so that you may. (usually planted by man by the way.)

Man also raises animals for what purpose? MEAT, so that we humans can eat.

Sorry for the little critters that die, but some of them are pests too - you cannot have it all ways.
