Some people love hairless cats, while others claim that they can’t stand their appearance. We challenge anyone who thinks that to check out these eight cats and find one that’s not extremely adorable!

They might not be for everyone, but there’s no denying that these eight hairless cat breeds are among the cutest and most loving felines on the planet.

The 8 Hairless Cat Breeds

1. Sphynx

No list of hairless cats would be complete without mentioning the Sphynx. They’re the most well-known and popular hairless cats out there, and they have an extremely playful demeanor that makes them a joy to own.

If you’re considering bringing a hairless cat into your home, no one would blame you if you found the Sphynx and stopped your search there. Just keep in mind that some Sphynx cats have small patches of hair that you will need to shave.

2. Bambino

The Bambino is a cross between the Sphynx and the Munchkin. They’re tiny cats, with certain ones only weighing in at 5 pounds! They’re extremely playful and energetic. Some might have patches of hair that you need to shave.

Checking the parent’s genetic lineage is the best tool that you have to get a completely hairless variety.

3. Donskoy

Some people refer to the Donskoy as the Russian hairless, but it’s the same cat. They’re much easier to breed because their hairless trait is dominant.

They’re a muscular-looking cat that’s extremely smart and playful. They’re known to wrinkle a bit, and sometimes, you’ll notice that they get a slight winter coat to help them through the winter months! But once the weather warms, they’ll drop that coat and go back to being completely hairless.

4. Dwelf

The Dwelf is a cross between the Sphynx, the Munchkin, and the American Curl, all combining to create an adorable miniature cat. Dwelfs don’t exceed 4.5 pounds, and they have an extremely unique appearance with their short legs and long bodies.

They’re known to be more playful than most other cats, and many people claim that they have a dog-like personality. Small, adorable, and affectionate, they’re exactly what many cat owners are looking for!

5. Peterbald

A mix between the Sphynx and an Oriental Shorthair, the Peterbald is a hard-to-find cat, especially if you want a hairless one. Many Peterbalds have a felt-like coating, and occasionally, you’ll even find one with a full coat.

They’re playful and loving, and they make great companions for your home if you can track one down.

6. Minskin

The Minskin is a cat that is derived from a cross between the Sphynx and the Munchkin. They weigh at most up to 4 pounds, which makes them one of the smallest domestic cats in the world.

They have extremely short legs, and it’s not uncommon to see them with patches of fur over various parts of their body. They’re extremely playful and loving, so it’s not hard to see why they’re so popular.

7. Ukrainian Levkoy

The Ukrainian Levkoy is one of the newest hairless cat breeds to hit the market. They’ve only been around since early 2000. They have a distinct muscular appearance around their face and inward-facing ears.

If you like wrinkles, they have plenty. They’re a bit more laidback than most cat breeds, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be playful from time to time. They’re a cross between the Donskoy and Scottish Fold cats.

8. Lykoi

There’s a good chance that the last Lykoi cat you saw wasn’t completely or even partially hairless. But there are hairless Lykois out there!

They’re also known as the “werewolf cat” due to their black/gray coat and the appearance around their eyes. But don’t let that worry you; they’re incredibly loving and playful. They’re a small cat breed that comes in between 4 and 7 pounds.

Conclusion

As time goes on, it seems that hairless felines are becoming more popular. With options like these, it’s not hard to see why. These cats are extremely adorable and loving, and they can make the perfect companion or addition to your home.

Just do your research and find a reputable breeder before forking out any cash! The little extra work and price upfront are well worth the 12–17 years of affection that these cats will give you.
